Winter Storm in March!
A low swooping in from Montana over the weekend brought heavy snowfall and hazardous driving conditions to much of the province. Saturday the system made an impact in Western Saskatchewan.
By afternoon travel was not recommended on highways across West Central Saskatchewan, eventually shutting down the section of Highway 7 from Delisle to the Alberta border and areas North of Kindersley.
Wind gusts of 70 km/h coupled with an abundance of fresh snow caused heavy drifting and zero visibility making travel impossible.
Environment Canada released estimated snowfall amounts for Saskatchewan Monday morning. Eatonia and Saskatoon seeing some of the highest snowfalls with the system.

The system moved into Eastern Saskatchewan and Manitoba on Sunday closing many highways including the Trans Canada East of Regina into Manitoba. Thunder snow was reported in Eastern Manitoba with a bunch of lighting strikes along the warm front.
