Rosetown RCMP Receive Reports of Amazon Scam
In addition to the calls belows, the RCMP shared they have received reports of scam calls:
“We have received several calls reporting an Amazon scam. Caller is requesting money be sent
for a purchase in order for the item to be delivered. Police are reminding people to NOT give
any personal information to unknown individuals and if, in doubt, always call the RCMP before
agreeing to any callers requests.”
On March 1, 2024:
- At 9:32 AM, Rosetown RCMP was alerted to an e-transfer fraud in Harris, SK. The case is currently under investigation.
- By 11:45 AM, a complaint of disturbing the peace was reported in Rosetown, SK, but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
- At 12:20 PM, an erratic driver was reported on Highway 7. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
- Shortly after, at 12:30 PM, Kyle RCMP mediated a dispute between a business and an employee.
- At 3:49 PM, Kyle RCMP received a mischief complaint in Kyle, SK, with insufficient evidence to proceed.
March 2-3, 2024:
- Rosetown/Kyle RCMP responded to several calls due to a winter storm, ensuring all passengers were safe. They advised against driving in such conditions to prevent putting a strain on emergency services.
On March 3, 2024:
- At 10:54 AM, an animal complaint was filed in Harris, SK, which is still under investigation.
- By 6:57 PM, a report of a stolen license plate was received in Rosetown, SK, but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
On March 4, 2024:
- At 6:24 PM, Kyle RCMP mediated a family dispute in Kyle, SK.
- Later, at 11:37 PM, Rosetown RCMP mediated another family dispute in Rosetown, SK.
On March 5, 2024:
- At 11:18 AM, a report of an erratic driver on Highway 7 near Harris, SK was filed, but officers could not find the vehicle.
On March 6, 2024:
- At 8:00 AM, a suspicious trailer was reported on a grid road near Valley Centre Road, which upon investigation, was deemed non-suspicious.
- By 8:54 AM, a complaint about an Amazon scam was lodged in Rosetown, SK, with insufficient evidence to proceed.
- At 9:04 AM and again at 9:36 AM, Kyle RCMP and Rosetown RCMP, respectively, received complaints of mischief and harassing communications in Kyle and Rosetown, SK. Both matters are under investigation.
- At 2:25 PM, a hit and run was reported in Rosetown, SK, which is still under investigation.
- By 7:14 PM, a motor vehicle collision was reported in Beechy, SK, currently under investigation.
- At 9:26 PM, Rosetown RCMP charged a 35-year-old male from Rosetown with assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, breaking and entering, and committing mischief after receiving a report of an assault in Rosetown, SK.
There were 31 Traffic related charges issued, 2 911 miss-dials call and 2 false alarm calls.
