The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit has charged a 20-year-old Estevan man with child pornography offences in relation to an investigation that began in September 2020.
The investigation began due to complaints about the accused’s internet activities and alleged sharing of child pornography using a popular social media application.
On October 22th, 2020 members of the Saskatchewan ICE Unit and Estevan Police Service executed a search warrant at a residence in Estevan. Child pornography was located on two mobile phones which were seized for further forensic analysis.
The accused, whose name has not been released, has been charged with Possession of Child Pornography and Transmits Child Pornography. He was briefly held in custody and released before a Justice of the Peace on numerous conditions. He is scheduled to appear at the Estevan Provincial Court on December 7th, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
