Beryl English’s 100th Birthday Was a Success!

Long-time teacher and resident of Kindersley, Beryl English celebrated her 100th birthday on July 9th. While COVID made a large celebration impossible, residents from around the area helped her celebrate by sending her birthday cards, 100 to be exact.

“She was tickled pink and remembered many of her students and fellow Kindersley residents,” said her granddaughter, Deanna English. “Many wrote notes. My dad said it brought tears–it was very touching. She felt special as many of her family members were unable to be there due to Covid restrictions. She’s looking forward to 101 now!”

During her teaching career, Beryl taught English, Math, and Science at the Kindersley Composite School, and retired in 1977. She was also active in the Legion and many sports until she moved to a home in Saskatoon.
