A special weather statement is in effect for R.M. of Kindersley, including Kindersley Brock and Flaxcombe, R.M. of Oakdale including Coleville, R.M. of Progress including Kerrobert and Luseland, R.M. of Chesterfield including Eatonia and Mantario and R.M. of Snipe Lake including Eston and Plato

Environment Canada has released a special weather statement for Kindersley and area. According to the weather statement a prolonged period of extreme heat is possible this week. A developing upper-level ridge over the Prairies this week will spread very warm temperatures into Southern Saskatchewan. Starting Wednesday, many locations will 4 to 5 day stretch of daytime highs of 30C or greater. With overnight lows of the mid to upper teens. The hottest temperatures of the week will occur on Friday and Saturday with temperatures soaring into the thirties.

Heat warnings may be issued as the week continues. Please monitor weather forecasts and take proper safety precautions. Remember to stay hydrated and to avoid heavy manual labour in the heat of the day. Remember that your pets need to stay cool as well!
