Extreme Cold Warning Continues
The arctic high pressure ridge has seemingly made it itself at home in the province of Saskatchewan and continues to create frigid temperatures. Kindersley and area are still under an extreme cold warning as well as the rest of the province.
Bus routes across the province have been again cancelled as wind chill values of -40C to -50C continue. The deep freeze weather is expected to continue through the weekend and most of next week. Early this morning Kindersley was experiencing -47C wind chill as even the slightest wind creates frigid values in such cold temperatures. While expecting to be warmer this afternoon at a balmy -31C wind chill the values will plummet tonight to -38C and periods of light snow. The deep freeze will likely continue into Saturday but Sunday might be warmer with a high of -22C.
Temperatures like this puts everyone at risk, wind chills of this degree can give frostbite within minutes. Remember to dress in layers and cover skin.
If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside.
If you are traveling remember to bring an emergency kit, such as extra blankets or jumper cables.
