The Covid-19 will be with us for some time and it is up to all of us to do our part to slow it down and eventually put it in its place. So, what can we do to make our selves and our workplaces safer for our customers?
Keeping our distance is going to be the most obvious and easiest to monitor. We have to have enough space for customers to shop and not feel crowded or fearful about shopping. How many customers will you allow into your place of business at one time? Are you going to wear a mask? Or insist your customers wear one? Even cleaning/sanitizing your counter and pin pads again seems obvious but is still important. Are your washrooms available for public use? Should they be? How about the door handles and windows etc. that people touch? Is there hand sanitizer available for customers to use?
Do you offer delivery and/or pick-up service for your customers? Making your products or services more accessible is a great start. Is your business on-line? Do you have an on-line store? Website? How easy can your customers find you? Marketing your business is also as important as customer service. Are you comfortable using social media? Your customers probably are, so it behooves you to learn more about it and how it works. You should look at your business through the eyes of your customers.
How about YOUR health? How are you feeling? Have you been looking after yourself by exercising and eating healthier? Your overall sense of well being is also important to your success during this time. Are you feeling overwhelmed or do you have someone that can support you? Your mental health is another obvious factor in your success. Better decisions are made and you tend to feel happier because when your mind is in a good place, your body will follow.
