KAWS Receives an Anonymous $3000 Donation

After an intake freeze due to lack of funds and forever homes for their animals, KAWS has received an incredibly heartfelt donation of $3000 from an anonymous donor.

“Every penny that comes to KAWS goes straight to vetting or care for the animals whether it’s food, litter, toys, etc. This money will be applied to vetting and other needs of the animals in care.”

This generous donation will go a long way in helping support the charity that has currently seen an influx of cats and kittens in their care, and as the weather turns cold, the need for homes will only grow.

KAWS has also seen an increase in support from the community, with recent donations of food and toys, however, they are still on an intake freeze. “Unfortunately, we still do not have enough money to cover all animals in care for vetting so until we can catch up we will continue to stay on hold. We also still need foster homes as well!” says Miller.

On November 7th from 10 a.m – 4 p.m., the KAWS team will be holding an adoption event where all adoption fees are half price! The half price adoption fee decrease runs from November 1st – 8th.

If you are unable to make it out to the event, KAWS also has an online application. For more information on adoption or becoming a foster home, you can reach out to the KAWS team at kaws.ca
