With the start of baseball season, the Kindersley Raiders are ready to hit the season running and make their 2018 season another memorable season for the team.

The Raiders had a great season in 2017, as they had nearly perfect regular and playoffs seasons with several exciting highlights, such as their electrifying victory over the Rosetown Angels, a first in Raiders’ history in over five years and the thrilling FVBL title snatching in July.

With a track record like that, the Raiders are looking to keep up the momentum in 2018, and so far they haven’t disappointed.

The Raiders started off their regular season on Thursday, the same night as the rodeo kick-off, with the Kindersley Royals.  The Raiders carried the day with an 11-3, but according to Raiders bench coach, Clayton Artymovich, the score doesn’t quite give the Royals credit.

“The Royals were a good team and the night had some very good ball, I look forward to watching them through the rest of the season.”

2018 sees a few changes for the Raiders team, including at least three more teams joining the FVBL, losing five members to those teams, and then gaining two new members. Some of the new teams in the FVBL include the Kindersley Clubs, Oyen Eagles, and the Outlook River Hawks. The FVBL now has 12 teams, and the season has been arranged, so each team only plays each other once in the regular season.

As an added benefit for the Kindersley area, many of the games for the Raiders will be home games, and between the Kindersley Stallions, Kindersley Raiders and Kindersley Cubs, there will be a good amount of fantastic ball going on at Berard Field this summer.

The next home game for the Raiders will be on June 7 with the Outlook River Hawks at 7:30 p.m.  The home schedule for the Raiders is as follows:

Raiders vs Outlook River Hawks – Thursday, June 7

Raiders vs Kyle Yellow Jackets – Saturday, June 9

Raiders vs Kindersley Klippers – Tuesday, June 12

Raiders vs Kindersley Stallions – Thursday, June 14

Raiders vs Elrose Aces – Friday, June 22

Raiders vs Kindersley Cubs – Wednesday, June 27
