Congratulations to Tylin Hilbig from Kindersley, who recently earned a spot on the Under 15 Saskatchewan Selects baseball team.

Hilbig attended an official try-out in Regina in early June. This event allowed baseball students under 15-years-old to show off their hitting, fielding, running, and other skills. Hilbig’s experience was rounded off with several scrimmages the next day.

After the baseball tryout camp, Hilbig received an invitation to level two of the tryouts. This time the competition was stiffer, as the event featured 30 top players in Saskatchewan. However, Hilbig wasn’t discouraged and played hard and well—well enough to secure a place on the provincial roster.

The newly assembled Team Saskatchewan will compete at the Baseball Canada 15U National Championship on August 23rd-26th.

Hilbig was a key pitcher with the Kindersley Royals in several crucial games this season. Doubtless, his experience will be invaluable for the upcoming National-level games later this month.
