The 2020 season in the North Saskatchewan Baseball League has overall been a good one for the Kindersley Stallions Baseball team.

Their first game was scheduled for July 2, but was rained out by sudden thundershowers.

An exciting league-opener game on July 9 at the home diamond saw Stallions clipping ahead of the Lloydminster Twins 4-3 with extra innings. Afterward, the Kindersley ball team traveled to Unity to tackle the Unity Jr. Cardinals.

The away game on July 14 also ended in victory for the Stallions with an easy 7-3 lead over the junior Unity team.

Two days later, the Stallions returned to Kindersley for a game on the Berard Field with the senior side of the Unity Cardinals. While the Senior Unity Cardinals put up stiffer opposition than the juniors, the Stallions carried another tidy score of 7-4.

July 21’s win (6-2) over the now twice-beaten Cardinals put the Stallions on a five-game winning streak, and added to their reputation of ruling the scoreboard with every league game up until that point.

The first loss of the season came two days later for the Stallions as an away game on the Lloyminster Twins’ own ball diamond. Stung by the 4-0, the Stallions made a brilliant comeback on Sunday, July 26, in the first of back to back games with the Border City Blue Jays. Two hours later, the previously-victorious Kindersley team was just behind the Blue Jays in a tight 7-6 game.

The Stallions tangled with the Unity Cardinals again on Monday, and this time carried the field in a 12-5 game.

The team will participate in the league playoff tournaments held August 7-9, held in North Battleford and in Lloydminster. The winners of those tournaments will face each other the following weekend.
