Obituaries: Keith Peters

1954 ~ 2021 (age 67)

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our son, brother & uncle, Keith Peters, at the age of 67 on May 19, 2021.

Beloved son of Anne and the late Oscar Peters, and brother of Kathy Duvall, Terry Peters, Don Peters, Janet Peters, and the late Marie Peters-Stewart.

(Arthur) Keith died suddenly at the family farm at Superb, his favourite place, in the presence of his mother, sister, brother & brother-in-law.

Keith was born March 18th, 1954 in Kerrobert Hospital, the first child of Oscar K. (deceased) & Anne (Olfert) Peters. His siblings Marie Peters-Stewart (deceased) (Gord), Kathleen Peters Duvall (David)), Terry Peters (Susan), Donald Peters (Cindy), Janet Peters & nieces and nephews Jake Peters (Mairene), Aaron Peters (Kassey), Nickolas Duvall (Kat & Hannah), Haleigh Duvall (Jesse), Scott Stewart & Chloe Peters.

Keith was raised on the family farm near Superb, SK. He attended school first in Superb & then moved to Kerrobert school, where he graduated. Keith’s attitude was “ if 50% gets you the same result as 90%, why go to the extra work” , a theory he shared with his nieces and nephews, much to the chagrin of their parents.

Keith took Farm Machinery Mechanic Repair at Kelsey (now SaskPoly) in Saskatoon, which is knowledge he share with customers (for a fee) and with family, neighbours & friends for free, or coffee, till he died.

IH red ran through his veins not ordinary blood like the rest of us.

Over his life Keith worked at L&S Equipment, MNS Equipment & J & B Equipment. After Keith retired he focused on farming.

Keith was an active member of the Superb Mennonite Church till its closing in 2020. He loved having coffee with neighbours and driving around the countryside to see what was happening in the community.

Keith found joy in collecting and organizing things that he found interesting & was a voracious reader.

After his father’s passing Keith remained on the farm with his mother and became her primary caregiver.

Keith was smart, funny, kind, quirky, helpful & a great son, brother, uncle, cousin & friend. His passing leaves a large hole in his family & many empty chairs around tables in the community.

Keith was very loved.
