Rosetown RCMP Reports Scam SIN, Bank Account Information and a Warrant for Arrest Calls

In addition to the calls, there was one traffic related charge issued and one 911 mis dial call.

On January 29th Rosetown RCMP received a request for a wellbeing check. Members attended and transported the male to hospital for assessment.

January 30th saw Rosetown RCMP receive a report of a sexual assault. The matter is still under investigation. Also that day a report was called in for a missing person. The male returned home safely and nothing further was required.

Rosetown RCMP received a report of fraud on February 1st. There was insufficient evidence to proceed with charges.

On February 2nd, RCMP received a report of an erratic driver on Highway 4 near Elrose, SK. Members were unable to locate the vehicle. At 1416hrs a call was received reporting a fraud matter, however there was insufficient evidence to proceed with charges.

Finally, on February 3rd an alarm report at a Rosetown business was called in. Members attended and it was a false alarm.

Between January 29th and February 4th there has been numerous reports of scam phone calls. The nature of the calls include individuals asking people to provide their SIN, bank account information and a warrant for their arrest. The callers have been known to spoof phone numbers including the RCMP phone number. Police are reminding people to NOT give any personal information to unknown individuals and if, in doubt, always call the RCMP before agreeing to any callers requests.
