Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation Partners with Saskatchewan HealthResearch Foundation on Child and Youth Health Solutions Program

Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation (JPCHF) is proud to partner with Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF) on all funded grants in the 2023-24 Solutions Program competition for the provincial Child and Youth Health Focus Area.

Many children and youth in Saskatchewan are facing complex health challenges. SHRF is a proud
partner of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation, supporting researchers, community
organizations, policy makers and those working directly with Saskatchewan’s youth to identify and
implement meaningful solutions that empower children and youth in leading healthy and fulfilling
lives.

Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation, in collaboration with Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital
Foundation, is excited to address Child and Youth Health by declaring it a strategic ‘focus area’ of the
2023-24 Solutions Program. Within this program, SHRF and their involved partners fund
interdisciplinary research teams as they identify and target creative solutions to complex problems,
then bring these solutions into action through Saskatchewan-based health research.

The SHRF 2023-24 Solutions Program will provide over $1 million in grants specifically designed to support researchers in Saskatchewan who are dedicated to creating a brighter future for
Saskatchewan’s children and youth. These grants offer an opportunity for researchers to apply for and receive funding to advance their work in finding innovative solutions for improving the health and well-being of these communities.

“The Solutions Program was developed to fund research that is timely, relevant and directly
addresses the challenges faced by the people of Saskatchewan,” said Patrick Odnokon, CEO of
Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation. “This program works to harness our province’s unique capacity, expertise and talent in research and health service: objectives advanced through our collaboration with JPCHF. It is a privilege to work alongside JPCHF to promote better health and healthcare for the children and youth of Saskatchewan, and to support the meaningful research that is bound to arise within the Child and Youth Health Focus Area.”

“Every child deserves access to the highest standard of care. Through strategic partnerships and
cutting-edge research and technology, we are making this a reality in our province,” said Brynn
Boback-Lane, President & CEO of Saskatchewan’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. “We
are proud to partner with the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation to ensure that
Saskatchewan’s health research community is leading the way with innovative approaches to
promoting child and youth health and wellness of our communities and the best-possible patient
care throughout Saskatchewan.”
