Klippers VS Flin Flon. Game 2

This 2nd game of 2 game home stand against the visiting Flin Flon Bombers felt more like a play-off game. The vibe and feel and intensity were all there. The final score in this contest was 4 to 2 for Flin Flon. It was another fast paced up and down tilt that even had 2 goals waved off; 1 for each team!

Goal posts were hit, checks were hard and the physicality aspect of the game showed. Again, like the previous game, both teams didn’t back down one bit.

A surprising aspect of this game was the absence of Captain Logan Linklater. He was given a 2 game suspension by the league for an alleged hit he gave to a Bomber player in the Friday game. The referees did not call it but the Flin Flon management protested and sent a tape of the infraction to the SJHL office and voila, Links out for 2 games.

Also, head coach Clayton Jardine was unable to be behind the bench so Trapper took over with recently retired Klipper, Cash Arnsten as his assistant. Cash has been the unfortunate recipient of too many concussions and so the medical staff advised him to end his playing days. At least for now. Who knows what the future holds for this very well liked and gritty player?

All in all, it was a successful split with Flin Flon and Kindersley proved they can keep up and best the top team.

The Klips are playing 4 games in the next week. 2 each against Melville and Yorktown before returning home on March 16 for their final regular season game against Battleford. Melville sits at 51 points while we have 50, so those 2 games will be critical. Yorkton Terriers have 40 points and will likely finish out of play-off contention.

Come on down and cheer on OUR KINDERSLEY KLIPPERS on March 16. Puck drop at 7:30.
