3rd Annual Princess Ball Offers New Delights

Still a Chance to Experience Big Dippers’ 3rd Annual Princess Ball

“There must be more than this provincial life…”  Yes, Princess Beauty, there is. On April 14 from 1 – 4:00 p.m. girls from Kindersley and the surrounding communities have a chance to attend a Royal Ball with 10 visiting Disney Princesses at the Kindersley Inn.

Proudly supported by Enlightened Dance Corp, the magical afternoon will feature vocal performances by various princesses, high tea, and a dance performance by students from Enlightened Dance Studio.

“Our aim is to raise money for the pool while giving the girls in our communities a memory that will last a lifetime,” says Roxanne Atkinson, member of the Big Dippers, a prominent pool fundraiser committee.  This isn’t the first princess ball the Big Dippers have put together; it is their third.

Their first ball in 2016 was a major success as tickets sold out within the first 48 hours of their opening sale, and a generous sponsorship from Longhorn Gas and Oil enabled the group to push approximately $8,500 towards the Kindersley Aquatic Centre project.

The sponsorship in 2017, unfortunately, fell through, so the committee was able to raise only half the funds of the previous year. But with the sponsorship of Enlightened Dance Corp this year, the Big Dippers are looking forward to making a huge come-back.

Lindsay Boychuk, owner and instructor of Enlightened Dance Corp, said she was glad to sponsor the 3rd Annual Princess Ball. “I think it is a great event for both the girls in our community and for our pool.  With owning and running my dance studio, of course, girls are near my heart, so I’m happy to do my part to build this memory for them. It also goes without saying that the pool is a fantastic centre for our community, so when you put the two of them together, there really wasn’t a better reason for me to get involved in this.”

Some of Boychuk’s students are part of the Disney-princess themed dance performance for the attendees of the event. The students that will be included in the performance are as follows:

Bentley Atkinson
Brayln Goodheart
Danyai Goddard
Hannah Bacon
Iralyn Calkins
Kenna Chester
Sofia McLean

All monies raised at the event will directly go to the Kindersley Aquatic Centre. Advanced tickets for the event are $30.00 each or reserve a table for eight at $240.00 per table. You can get the tickets online at www.picatic.com where online fees will apply.

The annual Princess Ball is only one of the fundraising events the Big Dippers host throughout the year.  A Chase the Ace fundraiser is ongoing every Thursday at the Kindersley Elks Hall, and the Zest of the West event is back by popular demand on the 21st of April.
