BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

The Territory Sales Manager (TSM)  is responsible to achieve or exceed territory sales targets as established by his/her Regional Sales Manager (RSM). The TSM represents Bayer CropScience in all key day-to-day functions required to sell and service BCS products within the territory and is expected to act in a professional manner adhering to corporate policies with respect to safety, business conduct, respect in the workplace and compliance in the performance of their duties and activities. TSMs will continuously manage and report sales and resource consumption progress to their RSM and required business colleagues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Ensures territory sales goals are achieved through the effective use of allocated resources, while striving for professionalism and safe working practices in the territory.

• Represent Bayer CropScience to retail and grower customers, as well as other business influencers in their respective territory in terms of sales, support and service of BCS seed and crop protection products.

• Provide leadership, motivation, and supervision to the Territory Sales Assistants (Summer Students) when they are operating in their territories.

• Provide information to their Regional Sales Manager on the status of their territory in terms of sales progress, resource management and business planning and execution. Coordinate local efforts with regional

sales strategies; identifies business opportunities and areas of challenge.

• Participation in Regional Teams and Committees as requested and required .

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• BScAg, BComm or a relevant related degree and up to 2 years of experience

• BCS summer student experience an asset.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills – written, verbal and listening, to maximize results with both internal and external customers.

• Good computer skills and ability to use CRM and MS Office

• Ability to attain territory sales budget and meet targets

• Prioritizes work with minimal supervision or help

• An understanding of the region and their competitors

• Seek guidance from their RSM on difficult situations

• Supervises Territory Sales Assistant (Summer Students)

• Understands and shows effort to demonstrate LIFE values

• Ability to travel on a regular basis within their region as well as to meetings within Canada and on occasion outside the country.
