Champion snowboarder Mark McMorris has begun physiotherapy after suffering a broken femur.

He was injured during a competition in Los Angeles in February.

Prior to the bad fall, the 22-year-old Olympic bronze medallist was having the best season of his career.

McMorris, who is from Saskatchewan, had surgery to insert a metal rod into his femur.
