Sets Up Rivalry Matchup With Battlefords
The Kindersley Klippers have moved on to the SJHL Quarter-Finals after Monday night’s 5-0 win in Notre Dame.
That wraps up the Best-of-Five Wild Card Series in four games for the Klippers, who lost Game 1 on home ice before rattling off three wins. That included an overtime victory one night previous before busting out late in Game 4 for the lopsided series clincher.
Dexter Bricker scored twice in the finale, while Matt VanderSloot, Cody Young and Austin Calladine had the others. Nathan Hargrave made 32 saves for the shutout.
In his final game as a Hound, goaltender Alexi Thibaudeau turned away 36/41 shots. Thibaudeau played a good chunk of his minor hockey in the Hounds’ system in Wilcox, and was a three year starter in junior, appearing in 132 regular season games, and another 30 in the post-season. He recorded 10 total shutouts between regular season and playoffs.
For the Klippers, they’ll take on their Western Saskatchewan rivals from Battlefords next, as they’ll meet the top-seeded North Stars in the SJHL Quarter-Finals starting on the weekend.
