The Floorhand is part of a 5 person crew who works on a well service rig and is responsible for performing services on oil and gas wells. This is an entry level position. Duties of the Floorhand include assisting in rigging up and rigging down, pulling/laying down rods, tubing and casing, and other functions specified by well operator.
All duties are to be performed according to the Company operating procedures in order to maximize the safety of all personnel at the work site and to most efficiently perform the task.

Time Allowed for Breaks/Meals: No formal times established; breaks/meals taken when appropriate and when required to insure safe working conditions at the discretion of the supervisor.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES
- Rigging Up and Down. A floorhand will lift, operate, rig up and rig down guywires, hydraulic jacks, pads/boards, and emergency gear which may include SCBA boxes, fire extinguishers. . A Floorhand may be required to lift, remove, install and operate wellhead, pump jacks and associated production equipment as required by the well operator or other designated Company official in performing these duties. Duties include driving a crew truck from lease to lease, leading to driving a 10-Speed Equipment Truck pulling the Doghouse.
- Servicing the Well. Each job will be slightly different, but a floorhand will generally always be required to position, lift, attach, install and work with matting boards, tubing, rods, casing, and associated well equipment such as rod strippers, polish rods, etc. A Floorhand is responsible for the maintenance and use of tools required for the different tasks performed such as, wrenches, hammers, snipes, tongs, elevators, and other associated rig tools and equipment.
- Training. This position requires various types and degrees of job related training with respect to service rig operation and Company rig operating procedures and also other specialized training in such topics as Hazard Communication and Lock out/Tag Out.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS, TRAINING & CHARACTERISTICS
- Minimum 18 years of age
- H2S Alive ticket
- Standard First Aid ticket
- Valid Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement
- Able to pass a Physical exam and drug screen
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Provide your own gloves, CSA approved hard hat and liner, rain gear, and CSA approved steel toed boots
- Able to work outside for extended periods of time, sometimes in extreme temperatures
- Physically fit and able to lift 100+ lbs

WORKING CONDITIONS
The employee is often exposed to:
