The Saskatoon Blades are honoured to announce a special celebration of Saskatoon’s favourite son, Gordie Howe.
The Blades have arranged for the Howe family to come to Saskatoon September 25, for “Thank You, Mr. Hockey” day, when several events will be staged in our city in honour of Gordie Howe. The Howe family is bringing the ashes of both Gordie and his wife, Colleen, and today City Council will consider a special cemetery declaration, which would clear the way for the family to inter the ashes at the Gordie Howe statue in front of SaskTel Centre.
