Helen Upperton in Saskatoon for Play Like a Girl event
Leading Sunday’s Play Like a Girl event in Saskatoon are a few Olympic athletes including women’s bobsleigh silver medallist Helen Upperton, Parapan Am Games bronze medallist Jessica Frotten and junior national fencer Kirsten Van Marion. It’s the fourth year the event has taken place in the city.
Speaking to CBC Radio’s Saskatchewan Weekend host Shauna Powers, Upperton explained how difficult her journey to the Canadian Olympic team was, adding it made her much stronger today and she wants to inspire the same strength in others.
