Update – 2016-11-02 – 3:00 p.m.
At approximately 2:00 p.m., an adult male was safely taken into custody in relation to the suspicious sudden death of a 56-year-old male earlier today in Kerrobert. To ensure police and public safety, the Saskatchewan RCMP Emergency Response Team was deployed to the scene northwest of Luseland, in the RM of Heart’s Hill. The members of this team, worked with local detachment members to contain the scene and establish communication with the adult male. These efforts resulted in him being taken into police custody without incident.
All travel restrictions in the area have now ended. However, residents in the area can expect to continue seeing an increased police presence at the scene northwest of Luseland and in the town of Kerrobert. There is no threat to public safety. Residents are asked to please respect all police barricades and any direction given by police at these locations.
As this investigation is still in the early stages we do not anticipate any further information will be available today.

2016-11-02 – 9:55 a.m.
Shortly before 5:00 a.m., Kindersley RCMP received a complaint of a sudden death at a residence in Kerrobert. Members attended the residence and located a deceased adult male. Initial investigation indicates the death is suspicious in nature. The identity of the deceased has not been confirmed and an autopsy will be ordered.
Kindersley RCMP are also securing a scene northwest of Luseland, in the RM of Heart’s Hill. Investigators believe the two scenes are related; however, details are limited at this time as the investigation is in it’s early stages. At this time there is no threat to public safety.
Residents in the area can expect to see an increased police presence at the scene northwest of Luseland and in the town of Kerrobert. Residents are asked to stay away from these areas and respect all police barricades and any direction given by police at these locations.
Details are limited at this time and further information will be released as it becomes available. The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the RCMP Major Crimes Unit – South, RCMP Meadow Lake Police Dog Services, and RCMP Forensic Identification Section – Saskatoon.
