With clear skies promised for a few nights this week, this could be your chance to see the incredible Geminid meteors at their best!
Technically, this meteor shower peaked on Sunday and Monday—right when Kindersley was shrouded in clouds and fog. Fortunately for us, though, it will still be nice viewing throughout this week.

Offering up to 120 meteors per hour, this is one of the richest meteor showers of the year. The best time to watch will be during the hours between midnight and dawn. However, watching for them in the evening should be rewarding, too.
You’ll likely see the meteors flying in all directions of the sky. But if you trace their paths backwards, you’ll notice that they all originate from a point near the constellation Gemini—the star pattern after which they were named.
Gemini will be rotating across the southern sky, from east to west, throughout the night. The image below represents the constellation as it will look at around 10 PM tonight. It should be highest in the sky in the early hours of the morning.
