This round with Eston had a shaky beginning as the Novice 1 team faltered against their guests, resulting in a 7-3 game. Gathering themselves together, the team travelled to Eston on February 28. When the game finally stalled with a 7-7 tie, Eston was the one to carry on to the next level.
Overall, the Novice 1 team carried a strong year, ultimately earning an 11-7-2 record. Competing in four tournaments this past year, the team carried the day in two of them, taking all three games against Rosetown and Redcliff. In Unity, they took their turn on both the high and the low end of the scoreboard; while their home games rounded them off with a tie, a loss, and one win.
The coaching staff spoke warmly of the whole team, noting that each player grew in their skill over the year, adding much to the team spirit. Well done Kindersley Novice 1 team!
