Kindersley Youth Committee Receives Award at SUMA Convention

Members of the Town of Kindersley recently received a Saskatchewan Municipal Award (SMA) on behalf of the Town’s Youth Committee.

Back in November 2017, the Youth Committee learned that it had earned one out of the four annual awards given out by the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities’ Association (SUMA) under their SMA program.

The Youth Committee was recognized as having “established a Youth Committee to revitalize youth engagement, [to] increase the contributions to young people, and support an intergenerational connection.”

The awards were given out at the SUMA convention last week.  In a tweeted post from SUMA, Mayor Rod Perkins is shown receiving the award on behalf of the Youth Committee.

The committee’s current members include Tessa Sautner, Committee Chair; Kathryn Sawatzky, Vice Chair; Jace Borgal, Treasurer;  Briana McBride, Secretary; Colton Leismeister, Communications Coordinator; Jillian McArthur, Member; Jocelyn Cannon, Member; and Shayla Olafson, Member; Joshua Enns-Wind, Member.
