SK MX Preps for “Biggest Event of the Year”

As the motocross season is entering into its last races, Western Canada is thrilled to host the CRMC Grand National event for the first time in over 25 years.

Held in Kamloops BC, the Grand Champion event will be a four-day racing experience from the 17 – 20th of August.

“It’s very exciting to see this huge event coming back to Western Canada,” stated Daryl Murphy, an MX member and acting official at the event. “Events like these have been traditionally in the East, but now competitors will be able to see the other side of Canada as well.”

What makes this national event different from others is that it allows armatures to test their mettle against the best in the nation.

The weekend will run slightly different from the usual 2 “moto” (race) format, as officials will grant more time to competitors with a 3 moto format. “This gives a grace moto to a normally stellar rider,” Murphy noted. “If they happen to mess up once, the low score isn’t holding them too far back.”

As with all events, the riders are graded by points, and each rider will stand or fall by the total number of points earned, including those over the weekend.  By the end of the event, each class will have its grand champion.

The following riders will be representing Saskatchewan at the event:

Austin Kozakewich
Kayne Fisher
Rylan Evans
Brandan Mamer
Brendan McKee
Ethan McKee
Dylan Cherkas
Tommy Lloyd
Broc Shury
Brent Shury

To these and any others we may have missed, we wish you luck!
