Long lines at advanced polls were a complaint from many Canadians across the country. The numbers show their complaints were likely valid. More Canadians turned out at the advanced polls this weekend than the 2011 election polls, and the number doubled in Saskatchewan.
3.6 million Canadians cast their ballot over the Thanksgiving weekend, up from the 2.1 million who cast ballots in the advance polls of the 2011 federal election.
From October 9-12, the preliminary number turnout in Saskatchewan more than doubled from 47,735 to 95,829.
Election day is Oct. 19.
