30 Teams Vying for 8 Provincial Berths
The Assiniboia Curling Club will host 14 teams and the Granite Curling Club in Saskatoon will host 16 teams at the Senior Men’s Challenge events this weekend. The triple knockout format will declare 4 representatives from each qualifier to determine who will play in North Battleford at the Senior Men’s Championship February 24 – 28, 2016.
The defending champions, shown on the cover photo, have returned with one player change as Brad Law has assumed the skip role from Glen Despins and Ray Krupski has joined the team to play second. Dwayne Mihalicz will play third and Pete Thiele remains at lead. Many other familiar and notable curlers and past champions are competing including Max Kirkpatrick, Randy Gilewich, Brian Humble, Brad Heidt and Eugene Hritzuk.
Two separate media releases for the North and the South list all the teams, their first opponents and draw times. Linescores and results will be posted on the CURLSASK Scoreboard starting with the Thursday, 2:00 PM draw in Assiniboia and the Friday morning 11:00 AM draw in Saskatoon.
