An asteroid bigger than the London Eye is on “close approach” with Earth, NASA has warned.
Named ‘2016 NF23’, the large lump of space rock has been labelled “potentially hazardous” and boasts an estimated diameter of up to 160m.
To put that in perspective, that’s the same as the height of the Walkie Talker skyscraper in the City of London, and about 20 or so metres bigger than the London Eye, which stands at 135m, and 50m bigger than St Pauls cathedral, which measures about 110m
