Third Time the Charm for Kalthoff
The Tartan Curling Club in Regina was the host site for the 2016 Mixed Doubles Championships where 18 teams vied to be Saskatchewan’s home province representative at the upcoming National Championships. The team of Sherry Anderson and Dustin Kalthoff emerged on Sunday morning as the fourth team to win this provincial title. This game was Kalthoff’s third appearance in the provincial final and it proved to be the winning one.

The final pitted two undefeated teams in the Final game. Anderson/Kalthoff from the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon were 6-0 and they were were matched up against previously undefeated Nutana club mate Nancy Martin and her new partner Catlin Schneider who went into the Final with a 7-0 record. Both teams were solid in this game but the turning point was in the second end when a Martin guard slipped a bit deep setting up an Anderson double for 3 points. Martin/Schneider continued to pour on the pressure but some key runbacks by Kalthoff proved too much to handle.
The Canadian Mixed Doubles Championships will be played in Saskatoon from March 31- April 3, 2016 at the Nutana Curling Club.
