Former all-star pitcher was a licensed pilot; plane went down in Gulf of Mexico
Roy Halladay, one of the best pitchers to wear a Toronto Blue Jays uniform, was killed Tuesday when his small plane crashed in the Gulf of Mexico. He was 40.
Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said during a news conference that Halladay’s ICON A5 went down about noon ET Tuesday near Holiday, Fla., just north of Tampa.
