Speeding is Costly and Dangerous
The Kindersley RCMP are reminding motorists of the dangers and cost of speeding. Last week, two Kerrobert RCMP clocked a couple of vehicles driving well over the speed limit. One of the vehicles was clocked at 126 km/hr in a 60 km/hr construction zone, resulting in a $977 fine. The Kindersley RCMP also noted that any vehicle caught doing 50 km over the speed limit can be impounded for a period of seven days. The other vehicle was clocked at 144 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone, the ticket issued was for $731.
Please be advised that if you are in excess of the speed limit by 10 km/hr, the basic fine amount starts at:
- In a 100 km/hr zone – $170
- In a 60 km/hr zone, passing emergency vehicles or tow trucks – $270
- In a 60 km/hr zone, passing highway workers or equipment – $360
Slow down, save money and possibly a life.
