Colveville Santa’s Hut is December 11th

This year the Coleville Santa’s Hut is set to take place on December 11th and donations are needed.

Joleen Scheible, who has been part of Santa’s Hut for roughly six years, says it is a great way to fundraise for the Kindersley Crisis Center. “I really believe and support the work the Crisis Center provides for this area. Santa’s Hut is a great way for local companies and community members to donate either money or new items towards this program. If any money is donated I then go purchase appropriate things the kids would want to buy for their family members from our local stores. Items are priced from 25 cents up to $6, and all that money goes directly to the Crisis Center. Our parents all realize that any money they send is to be considered as a donation.” she explained.

Not only does Scheible believe in the services the Crisis Center provides, she also says one of the best parts is seeing how excited the kids are to pick out gifts for their families. “The thought they put into it is incredible! One year I had a little guy say to me “Mrs. Scheible, I’m getting my mom a new pair of scissors, she can NEVER find scissors at home”! I just about died of laughter, it’s so cool to watch. Another year we had all three grandkids get their grandpa the exact same thing… they knew EXACTLY what Grandpa would like!”

For anyone looking to donate to the Hut, new men and women’s items are needed. “I have a pretty good idea of our families interests out here in Coleville, so with any money donated I buy things like hunting gear, tools, fishing gear, NHL stuff. For women, I try to find things like bubble baths, trendy home decor, lotions, books, or candles,” Schieble says.

Scheible will be shopping for items on December 4th, and running the Hut on December 11th at the Coleville Legion Hall. If you would like to donate any items you can contact her at 460-7023 for her to pick up the item or you can drop items off at the Rossville School.
