Council acknowledged receipt of Mayor John Enns-Wind’s formal resignation as of January 22, 2016 and appointed Councillors Shaun Henry and Curtis Sackville to serve as Acting Mayor and Deputy Mayor, respectively, for the remainder of the Council term ending October 2016. A subsequent resolution amended the Deputy Mayor schedule to clarifying sharing of Council responsibilities for the remainder of the term.
Administration was directed to prepare a business case and application for City status to the Ministry of Government Relations by May 10, 2016 and to request that approval of City status coincide with the Municipal Election on October 26, 2016.
Administration was directed to donate to the Kindersley Composite School all Town-owned and purchased fitness equipment currently located in the Jeff Olson Room of the West Central Events Centre, and further to prepare a plan to include alternate uses of the Jeff Olson Room as part of the 50 percent cost recovery plan.
Council declared February 24, 2016 as Red Cross Pink Day to bring awareness that prevention of bullying involves the entire community.

*Administration was directed to commence a search for a new Engineering Consultancy of Record
Council appointed Gord Krismer and Associates to serve as the Town of Kindersley’s Development Appeals Board for a term to expire December 31, 2016.
Council accepted amendments to the agreement with the Curling Club, which will slightly reduce power and water costs charged to the club, effective January 25, 2016.
