Curling Club Ends Season with Men’s Bonspiel

After a great season of championships and bonspiels, the Kindersley Curling Club pulled up its ice just yesterday — finishing the 2017-2018 season.

But before the season completely ended, the club hosted their annual men’s bonspiel on the second last weekend of March.

Eight teams in all were present for the weekend, and the club ran three events. Jessie St. John won the laurels for Event A, Travis Wagner trounced all other teams on the B Event, and the Event C was won by Richard Raymond. The teams didn’t enjoy just good curling, but they also enjoyed a fantastic steak dinner on the Friday evening, where the club served over 50 steaks to a hungry crowd.

Looking back over the year, the curling club sees good memories and a few new faces added to their timeline. “It was a good season, we generated new interest and look forward to seeing that momentum continue into our next season.” Colleen Oscar-Swan, member of the Kindersley Curling Club, says she looks forward to the start of the 2018-2019 curling season by the last week of October. “The dates are not yet finalized, but already we are considering the new activities and possibly a new league that will start in the new season.”
