Eight current or former members of the University of Regina’s track & field team are competing in Edmonton this weekend at the Canadian Track & Field Championships, which stretch from July 7 to July 10 at Foote Field.
The meet also serves as Canada’s Olympic trials for Rio 2016 in August.
Joy Becker is the lone current U of R athlete that’s entered in the senior category, as she comes into the meet seeded fourth in the long jump with a season-best outdoor mark of 6.07 metres. Scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on Sunday, the senior women’s long jump will be one of the final events of the weekend.
