SASKATOON – Fifth-year Huskies Dalyce Emmerson and Laura Dally were both named Canada West First Team All-Stars when the conference announced it’s all-star lineups Monday afternoon.

The Huskie duo was among nine fifth-year athletes that were named to one of the three conference all-star teams.

With her fifth straight selection, Emmerson becomes the first Huskie since Sheila Brennan (1978-82) to be named a conference all-star in all five seasons. After being a second teamer in her rookie season, Emmerson has been on the conference’s first-team for the past four campaigns. The Prince Albert, Sask. native led the Huskies with nine rebounds per game to go along with 14.6 points per game. Emmerson’s 58.1 field goal percentage led the conference.

Dally was named an all-star for the second straight year after being on the conferece’s third team in 2014-15. In her second season with the green and white, Dally led the Saskatchewan offense with 17.2 points per game. The Bright’s Grove, Ont. native connected on 41 percent of her three-pointers this season and added 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.

The Huskies return to the hardwood this weekend when they host the Canada West Final Four. Saskatchewan meets the Alberta Pandas in Friday night’s second semifinal at 7 p.m. at the PAC.
