Fire Ban in Effect Immediately

Due to extreme fire hazards, the Town of Kindersley has issued under the provisions of Bylaw 23-09, A Bylaw Respecting Fire Prevention, a ban on all open fires, fire pits, and fireworks on all lands within the geographic boundary of the Town of Kindersley, including all municipal parks, campsites, and lands within the Regional Park Authority.

Gas and charcoal briquette barbecues with lids, and contained cheminea with door, are permitted but only for the purpose of cooking and heating, for the duration of the ban.

For an extended period of time, there has been no significant rainfall leading to extremely dry conditions. Fire bans are also currently in place in many of the surrounding rural municipalities in the area, and across Saskatchewan and Alberta.

The fire ban will stay in place until conditions improve and this Declaration is rescinded.
