Smoke is the worry for people in the La Loche region
Fire officials say the Fort McMurray fire has stalled about five kilometres from the Alberta-Saskatchewan border — about 30 kilometres from La Loche, Sask., the nearest community.
“It has moved a couple hundred metres. It’s still approximately five kilometres from the border. It has not moved significantly on that face,” said Kevin Murphy, the acting deputy minister of Saskatchewan Environment.
