Fort McMurray re-entry enters day two

Another wave of evacuees is expected back in Fort McMurray on Thursday, as the reconstruction process continues, one that officials say will likely take years.

Residents in “zone 2”, which includes Parsons Creek, Stone Creek, Timberlea, Eagle Ridge and Dickinsfield, are being allowed to settle back into their homes nearly one month after having to flee the raging wildfires.

The re-entry began Wednesday with as many as 15,000 residents in Lower Townsite, Anzac, Fort McMurray First Nation and Gregoire Lake Estates making their way home.
