This video of 78-year-old Shirley Webb lifting 225 pounds of weights in a gym has already been liked 75,500 times.
Within two years, her weekly exercise routine switched from mowing the lawn in her house to lifting over 200lb weights.
Shirley is from East Alton, Illinois. She decided to join her local gym because she had a hard time getting up from the chair and had to hold on from the handrail in order to go up and down the stairs.
One day she simply decided to change her life and boost her strength.
She has currently set the Illinois record for lifting 200+lb in weight and age groups.
Her family, friends and trainer are all impressed. According to Shirley’s trainer, she can deadlift 225lb 3 times.
“When I go to the gym and work out, when I leave, I feel so much better than I did when I went in, and I just feel so good. I feel tremendous,” Shirley said.
