Great Plains College offers reduced rates for safety training courses

February 18, 2016

In response to the difficult economic period that Saskatchewan is enduring, Great Plains College will be reducing tuition costs by 15 per cent for select safety courses.

“We understand the challenges that are facing the oil and gas industry. Keeping safe at work should not be one of those challenges,” says Lyla Cooper, skills and safety training coordinator for Swift Current and Maple Creek campuses of Great Plains College.

Courses that are eligible for the tuition discount include: First Aid/CPR, H2S Alive, Confined Space Levels I and II, Ground Disturbance, Fall Protection General, Fall Protection Rig Work, Fit Testing, Fall Rescue for Rig Work and Coil Tubing Blow Out Prevention.

“Hopefully this will assist with the financial constraints that our valued clientele across all industries may be enduring at this time,” explains Lana Rhodes, skills and safety training coordinator for Kindersley, Warman, Rosetown and Biggar campuses of Great Plains College. “We want them to know that we support them.”

The 15 per cent reduction in tuition will be offered from March 1 to June 30, 2016, and is applicable to regularly-scheduled courses that take place at Great Plains College locations. Visit greatplainscollege.ca/skillsandsafetytraining/ for more information.
