Highlights from October 13, 2015 Council Meeting

Council approved funding for seven projects through the 2015 Community Grant Program. The following organizations were approved for grants to a maximum of $750:

•    Kindersley Klippers – $750
•    KAWS Animal Rescue (“Raise the Woof” event) – $750
•    KAWS Animal Rescue (Garage Sale) – $445.65
•    Kindersley and District Plains Museum (2010) Inc. – $693
•    Saskatchewan Seniors Kindersley Branch – $750
•    Pathway to Wellness – $750
•    West Central Crisis and Family Support Centre -$750

Related to the Community Grant, as per existing terms and conditions of the grant, Council defeated a motion that would allow KAWS Animal Rescue to transfer pre- viously unused funding to a project different than what was specified in the group’s application. Council also requested an amendment to the terms and conditions that would make applicants eligible for only one grant per annual application cycle. 
Council approved its 2016 Regular Meeting schedule and Deputy Mayor schedule. 
Council authorized the Chief Administrative Officer to proceed under the Tax Enforcement Act with title acquisition of Lot 2, Block 75, Plan G893. 
Council adopted Bylaw 15-15, a bylaw that amends the Economic Incentive Tax Exemption, 05-14, to allow all new residential buildings to qualify for a three-year tax incentive as of January 1, 2014.
