Highlights from the February 22, 2016 Regular Meeting of Council

Dancin’ Oilfield representative Danny Kosolofski addressed Council to discuss his concerns about the Town of Kindersley’s under-utilization of local contracting services.

Council directed Administration to take the necessary steps to participate in a multi-municipal Request for Proposals for the supply of natural gas, which is being initiated by the City of Prince Albert.

The implementation of a new steel tipping fee at the Kindersley Waste and Recycle Centre was approved by Council at a rate of $20 per tonne or $0.02 per kg, with a minimum charge of $10. This applies to all scrap metal delivered to the landfill.

A home based business application was approved for Gel Nails at 200 7th Avenue East on the condition that the business complies with all development standards as set out in the Zoning Bylaw 04-14.

Council directed Administration to enter into a servicing agreement with Kindersley Investments Ltd. to establish water, sanitary and storm sewer service to the Best Western Hotel located at 501 & 503 14th Avenue East.

Council approved the proposed plan for subdivision of 12 acres of farmyard located at the SE ¼ of Section 14-29-23 W3M as prepared by Kindersley Meridian Surveys.

Council passed new remuneration rates for Acting Mayor Shaun Henry and Deputy Mayor Curtis Sackville, equally apportioning the salary set for the Mayor as per Council’s Policy Manual, retroactive to January 15, 2016.
