Kindersley Graduate Signs With Columbia International University

Congratulations to Brody Istace, a Kindersley resident who will be the first person from Saskatchewan to become a student-athlete attending the South Carolina’s state capital university as a collegiate golfer and business student.

17-year-old Istace graduated from the Kindersley Composite High School just this spring, and he has no plans of slowing down. The young golfer has recently signed with the Columbia International University (CIU) located far south of the Canadian border—in Columbia, South Carolina to be exact.

While he competes for CIU in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, he will also be studying business at the university; thus combining post-secondary education and the game that he loves.

When Istace joins the CIU in mid-August, he will find himself on the freshly revived golf team with other new students competing alongside him in collegiate golf. The group from the CIU is in its first year and promises to be a dynamic, power-punching group this upcoming golf season. Istace’s first competition as a CIU Ram will be on August 21st.
