Description

Caltech Surveys has an opening for an experienced Survey Party Chief based in the Kindersley and Unity area.

The successful candidates will be responsible for performing field survey work on projects in the construction, pipeline, oil and gas, land development and legal land surveying industries.

Key Responsibilities
-Manage & perform field survey work with the help of Survey Assistants
-Liaise with Project Managers to coordinate field survey work, review and manage project budgets, timeline requirements, priorities and survey methodology
-Provide guidance, leadership & mentorship to Survey Assistants
-Act as a company representative, liaising directly with client field representatives and land owners
-Prepare & communicate field notes, sketches, checklists and digital data

Qualifications
-Our successful candidate will be a graduate of a recognized post-secondary program related to surveying & geomatics or have an equivalent amount of related experience
-3 to 5 years of experience in the Survey Party Chief role
-Working knowledge and experience using Trimble equipment and software, RTK GPS and line locating would be considered an asset
-Proven communication skills – verbal and written; ability to produce accurate and legible field notes
-The ability to develop and motivate survey staff and work well in a team environment
-Must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing as required to access work sites
-Experience with ATVs/UTVs, snowmobiles and chainsaws would be considered an asset
-A valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract
-Completed training and valid tickets in First Aid, H2S and CSTS safety training, is an asset
-Availability to travel and work away from home as required
