Kindersley Klippers Update

The last half of November brought a mixed bag of results for the Kindersley Klippers, but a big win over league rivals Notre Dame Hounds excited more than a few fans last week.

After clipping the Weyburn Red Wings short in back to back games on the weekend of November 9, the Kindersley Klippers took the small end of the scoreboard against the Melfort Mustangs on November 17.

A mid-week game on Tuesday, November 21, found the Klippers battling against the division leaders, the Battleford Stars. Sitting tight on their own ice, the Stars carried the day with a sound 4-2 win over the Klippers.

Nothing daunted, the Klippers returned to home ice on November 25 for a much-anticipated matchup against their league rivals, the Notre Dame Hounds. Heartened by the cheers of their own home crowd, the Klippers put on a great show for their fans. The Hounds only just managed to score one goal to the Klippers two, and the Klippers left the ice slapping hands with fans with their own play-roughed mitts.

Bolstered by the win over the Hounds, the Klippers were more than ready for a following game with the La Ronge Ice Wolves last Friday. Again with cheering from their fans and on familiar ice, the Klippers kept the Ice Wolves spinning until they took the day 3-2, Klipper’s favor.

The Klippers will take to the ice on December 5, against the Notre Dame Hounds, followed by another game on December 6. The next home game for the Klippers will be with the Humboldt Broncos on December 12 at 7:30 at the WCEC. Come on down to cheer our boys on!
