Bicycle Theft is a Real Threat, Here’s What You Can Do About It
Imagine your bicycle is stolen, of course you report the theft but suddenly you have to remember all the details to describe it and do you even have a picture of it?
According to the Kindersley RCMP, the success of locating a stolen item is higher when RCMP can post on social media with a picture of the item.
On their Facebook page, the Kindersley RCMP shared some tips you can follow to prepare for a potential bicycle theft:
- Take a picture. Having a picture of your bicycle can prove invaluable when trying to locate the stolen item. Make sure your picture is of the entire bicycle and for privacy reasons shows the bicycle with no rider.
- Record the serial number. Providing the serial number to police allows them to verify if they recover the bicycle. Write your serial number down and keep it in a safe place.
If your bicycle is stolen, you can report the theft to the RCMP and they will post the picture of your bicycle on their Facebook page.
