Morton Announces Departure from Town of Kindersley

Last week, Bernie Morton, Chief Administration Officer for the Town of Kindersley, resigned from the position he has held for over six years and will end his career with the Town of Kindersley on July 20, 2018.

In a recent media release, Mayor Rod Perkins congratulated Morton in his new venture and expressed gratitude on behalf of the Town. “It is with deep appreciation and some sadness that we accept Bernie’s resignation and wish him well as he pursues the next stage of his career as Chief Administration Officer with another municipality. While it is Kindersley’s loss, this marks an exciting new chapter for Bernie and his family.”

Mayor Perkins says the town will start searching for a new CAO immediately, but in the meantime, he has full confidence in the capability of the Council and Administration in the interim.

Morton has been the Town’s Chief Administration Officer since 2012 and according to Mayor Perkins, has been “hugely instrumental in facilitating major commercial and residential developments, enhancing Kindersley’s profile throughout Saskatchewan and Canada, and successfully overseeing daily operations of the municipality.”

Morton had thanks of his own during his resignation notice. “I am deeply grateful to the Councils of the Town of Kindersley for whom I have had the privilege of working with,” Morton said in the media release. “I am also grateful to the Administration and staff members whose dedication to their work has been inspiring, and grateful to the citizens of Kindersley and neighboring municipalities for whom it has been my privilege to serve.”
